Just ahead of Chinaplas 2014 in Shanghai (April 23–26, Hall E1, Stand K41) Netstal has opened its new demonstration and training center with test facilities at its plant in Haiyan. Netstal’s presentation at the new demonstration center focuses on applications for the medical technology sector and the beverage industry. Moreover, in order to offer its customers an even better local service in future, the comprehensive stock of spare parts for the entire Chinese and neighboring regions is also being incorporated within the Haiyan site.

A question of reliability and trust

Netstal’s presentation at the new demonstration and training center focuses on the application areas of medical technology and beverage packaging. The local application-based center serves as a training center and is also available for customer trials. In order to offer customers an even quicker service in future, the comprehensive stock of spare parts for the entire Chinese and neighboring regions is also being incorporated within the Haiyan site. "Systematically improving local expertise in the fields of application technology and customer training is a clear strategic goal for us," stated David Tso, Sales Manager for Netstal machines in China. "This facility will enable us to provide an even better local service to our Chinese customers in future. With trained personnel and state-of-the-art test machines, we will quickly and unequivocally assure customers of the benefits of using Netstal high-performance injection molding machines,” continued Tso.

Netstal offers local presence with high-performance machines

"The new demonstration and training center in Haiyan allows us to present our Chinese customers with a ‘hands on’ demonstration of complex applications – meaning we are now able to offer an even better local service," explained Markus Dal Pian, Vice President of Marketing and Sales at Netstal. The opportunities that Netstal machines open up in the field of medical technology are illustrated by an all-electric ELION featuring a 2,200 kilo Newton (kN) clamping force, which began sample production of blood collection tubes in the new production hall in Haiyan in April 2014. Suitable for clean room application, the all-electric ELION 2200 manufactures the PET blood collection tubes in a cycle time of 6.5 seconds. The 48-cavity mold is supplied by Taiwanese company Pass Card, while automation equipment comes from Hekuma (Germany) and material handling from motancolortronic (China). "It is imperative that we present ourselves locally in the Chinese market. Now, thanks to sample production at the new demonstration and training center, our Chinese customers are able to get an on-site perspective of the benefits of using a Netstal machine," explained Patrick Blessing, Head of Netstal’s MED Business Unit. As a demonstration plant for the beverage industry, Netstal installed a complete PET-LINE system with cooling and drying units in China back in September 2013. This system, which has a clamping force of 3,500 kN, will also produce PCO28 preforms in time for the opening of the extension to the Haiyan plant. The 96-cavity mold is supplied by Swiss company Otto Hofstetter AG, while the cooling equipment is provided by local manufacturer Shini Plastics Technologies Inc.
