The Jokey Group is expanding its range to include PET packaging produced using the injection stretch blow molding (ISBM) process. Consumers are familiar with this plastic packaging as ketchup bottles, soap dispensers or pill boxes, for example. “The new product line is an ideal addition to our product portfolio,” explains Christof Kölschbach, CSO of the Jokey Group. “With the individual PET packaging solutions, we can meet the demand of existing customers, e.g. in the food industry, and also open up new sales markets,” Kölschbach continues.

The global demand for PET packaging produced using the ISBM process is growing every year. The high strength, low weight, transparency and recyclability of the material ensure that the industry is opting for this packaging solution. The new product line is produced by Jokey Poland Sp. z o.o. at its site in Kędzierzyn-Koźle in Upper Silesia. In the first stage of series production, the company currently produces Jokey Blow Jars (JBJ) and matching closures in packaging sizes from 150 ml to 300 ml. This packaging is primarily used in the food and food supplement industry.

Jokey relies on the maximum possible use of rPET in production. The raw material is obtained from post-consumer collections. rPET reduces the need for virgin plastics, which conserves resources and reduces energy requirements. The ISBM production process also saves up to 15 percent plastic material compared to conventional PET injection molding processes, which reduces material usage and transport emissions. “The ISBM process and the use of rPET meet our requirements for efficiency and sustainability and are in line with our goal of a circular economy for plastic packaging,” says Mateusz Buliński, Business Development Manager Jokey Poland. “With ISBM, we can realize a wide range of individual shapes, designs and finishes, which we can produce for our customers in the usual Jokey quality and in large quantities,” adds Mateusz Buliński.
